On Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., CUSD will be hosting a workshop titled: From Phonics to Fluency: How Reading is Taught and How You Can Help. It will be facilitated by Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction PK/TK-5, Brad Shearer; Reannah Sartoris, K-12 Humanities Coordinator II; and an amazing teacher, Kendra Gerhard from Concordia Elementary.

You can attend the workshop in the Board Room at the CUSD Education Center at 33122 Valle Road in San Juan Capistrano. If you attend the workshop in person, you will receive a complimentary copy of a children’s book appropriate for TK/Preschool to Grade 2 students. Please RSVP here to reserve your copy.
